Categories

Applicants may participate in multiple categories, as long as the repertoire submitted aligns with the specific requirements of each. Age-based categories are determined according to the applicant’s age on the final day of registration.

General Age-Based Categories

  • Category A: Ages 4–6 – Free choice of 1 piece, up to 5 minutes

  • Category B: Ages 7–8 – Free choice of 1 piece, up to 6 minutes

  • Category C: Ages 9–10 – Free choice of 1 piece, up to 7 minutes

  • Category D: Ages 11–12 – Free choice of 1 piece, up to 8 minutes

  • Category E: Ages 13–14 – Free choice of 1 piece, up to 9 minutes

  • Category F: Ages 15–17 – Free choice of 1 piece, up to 10 minutes

  • Category G: Ages 18–21 – Free choice of 1 piece, up to 15 minutes

  • Category H: Age 22 and above – Free choice of 1 piece, up to 20 minutes

Special Repertoire-Based Categories

  • Category I: Baroque – 1 piece, up to 10 minutes

  • Category J: Classical – 1 piece, up to 10 minutes

  • Category K: Romantic – 1 piece, up to 10 minutes

  • Category L: Modern – 1 piece, up to 10 minutes

  • Category M: Sonata – 1 piece, up to 15 minutes

  • Category N: Concerto – 1 piece, up to 20 minutes

  • Category O: Chamber Music – 1 piece, up to 15 minutes

  • Category P: Creative Video – 1 piece, up to 20 minutes

         Examples of “Creative Video” include:

         Music videos with storytelling elements. Multi-track video recordings. Visual performance integrations with original artwork or f           

         footage.Artistic interpretations of music through personal video design.

  • Category Q: Jazz – 1 piece, up to 15 minutes

  • Category R: World Music – 1 piece, up to 15 minutes

  • Category S: Composition – 1 piece, up to 15 minutes

  • Category T: Media Scoring – 1 piece, up to 15 minutes
    (Music for film, television, or video games. Video or audio submissions accepted.)

  • Category U: Electronic Music – 1 piece, up to 15 minutes

  • Category V: Conducting – 1 piece, up to 20 minutes

  • Category W: Vocal Ensembles – 1 piece, up to 15 minutes

  • Category X: Orchestras – 1 piece, up to 20 minutes

 

    Please note: If more than one piece is submitted within a single application, only the first piece listed will be evaluated.
